After a remarkable 2014 that saw them win an ARIA for best dance single as well as finishing second in the triple j hottest 100 for their single ‘High’, Australia’s Electro-music kings Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles, AKA Peking Duk are setting their sights on the US market in 2015.
Since completing their affiliation with Universal Music Group’s sub-label Vicious Bitch in Australia, the Canberra duo have recently singed a worldwide record deal with Sony Music Australia and RCA Records in the United States.
Upon announcing the new deal, Manager Ben Dennis said “We are delighted to welcome Sony Music Entertainment Australia into the Peking Duk team and look forward to a prosperous relationship with them in taking the guys’ music to the next level, both in Australia and internationally.”
Sony Australia CEO Denis Handlin has also offered his support for the duo, declaring “Peking Duk are outstanding Australian artists, and I am thrilled to have them join the Sony Music family. We are very excited to be a part of this next phase in their exciting career both here in Australia and around the world.”
The new deal has already seen Peking Duk enjoy a run of shows in The US, including their debut performance at Coachella festival in Indio, California, which they described as “kind of cool, man. We only just released “High” over here not too long ago. It’s been out in Australia for a while; it did well, which was sick. It’s been cool.”
After returning home from a successful US tour, the Peking Duk team are now working on finishing their debut album, which is due out later in 2015 and According to Adam Hyde, fans of Peking Duk also expect to see a new single “coming very soon”.
